What is an eSIM, and how does it work?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital version of a traditional SIM card that is built directly into a device. Unlike a physical SIM card that you can remove and insert, an eSIM is permanently soldered onto the device's motherboard.

Here are some key benefits of eSIMs:

Convenience: Easily switch between cellular plans without the need to swap physical SIM cards.
Security: eSIMs are more difficult to steal or lose compared to traditional SIM cards.
Space-saving: eSIMs are smaller than traditional SIM cards, allowing for slimmer device designs.

How to activate an eSIM: There are two main ways to activate an eSIM:

Scanning a QR code: Your cellular carrier will provide you with a QR code. Simply scan this code with your phone's camera during the activation process in the eSIM app.
Manually entering details: You also receive a confirmation code and other details from your carrier, which you can enter manually during the activation process in the eSIM app.
